Carson City Library and Plaza – Carson City, NV

Overview

As part of ongoing downtown improvement, a new Carson City library and plaza was designed to be a catalyst project that would increase adjacent land values and instill long-term stability for future redevelopment. The project arose from a public-private partnership established to enhance the downtown.

Challenge

To create a public gathering place and new civic building that would anchor the downtown node.

Outcome

Wide spread community support but the property owner (a family trust) eventual chose to move in a different direction.
